Why Martial Arts for Kids

If your kid has got mad energies, let them burn it off in sparring, and not on the streets.

Some kids quit when they realise they can’t win. This is when it’s so important they keep attending class.

Kids might win on the streets and in the playground but in martial arts, they realise they aren’t top dog here and they don’t like the feeling.

Keep them attending, because we aren’t about making a kid feel like they are losers. And we certainly aren’t about knocking their confidence.

Instead, we are teaching mutual respect and teamwork. We are teaching that you win some, you lose some. You learn appreciation and a whole host of life lessons, and that you don’t give up. It’s hard for people to realise that if you want to get better (or the best if you are competitive) then you’ve got to be challenged. It’s not supposed to be easy.

Sometimes it’s not all about just having fun, sometimes there’s work needed, tears of frustration is inevitable. Each kid has a different challenge to work through. For some it’s focus, for some discipline, for some they are facing real fears.

We will guide them through.
